Mobile app and singing practice

Core app features do not require an account. Imported songs, preferences, choir names and practice reports are stored on your device or in a folder you choose. Microphone access is used to record and assess singing during practice. Practice audio is processed on your device and is not automatically uploaded to Solfa Chorale or Firebase. If you save or share a report, the destination you choose may process it under its own privacy policy.

App diagnostics and Firebase

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config to understand usage, diagnose crashes and manage app configuration. Information processed may include app-instance or installation identifiers, device and app information, usage events, song titles played, online search terms, crash reports and diagnostic information. Firebase may process technical information, including IP addresses, as part of providing these services. Please avoid putting personal or sensitive information in song titles or search terms. App feedback and request conversations

When you submit feedback, we receive your message, category, optional email address, app version, device information and any attached song or playback details. Song requests send the requested title; private conversations send the messages you choose to write. We store request and message identifiers, timestamps and technical records needed to operate and protect these services. Private conversations are accessible to authorised administrators and the holder of the conversation access token. Public request listings may display the requested song title and status. Do not put private information in a requested song title.

Information we collect

Solfa Chorale may collect contributor names, contributor emails, submitted song text, song request details, feedback messages, admin account details, page URLs, browser information, server logs, timestamps, and privacy-preserving hashed IP records where needed.

How we use information

We use submitted information to review contributions, publish approved tonic solfa files, manage song requests, respond to feedback, prevent duplicate or abusive voting, maintain the website, improve the library, and contact contributors where needed.

Public information

Approved library entries may display contributor names, source information, metadata, and submitted tonic solfa text. Contributor email addresses are used for administration and should not be intentionally displayed publicly.

Song request voting

To reduce duplicate voting, the site may store limited browser or IP-based voting records. This is used only for basic abuse control and request prioritisation.

Feedback

When you leave feedback, we may store your name, email address, message, feedback type, page URL, browser information, timestamp, and a hashed IP record. This helps us respond to issues, improve the site, and protect the feedback form from misuse.

Telemetry and analytics

The site may record basic usage events such as song detail views, downloads, app/API access, and aggregate visitor analytics. These records help us understand which songs and features are useful, diagnose problems, and improve the Solfa Chorale app and website.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. Limited technical data may be processed by hosting, analytics, security, or infrastructure providers that help operate the website.

Data retention

Submissions, requests, and review records may be retained while the library operates. You may contact us to request correction or removal of personal information associated with your contribution.

You may also request removal of personal information in feedback or request conversations using the contact address below. Include enough information to identify your submission without sending passwords or private access tokens. Removing the app removes its local app data; reports exported to Files, backups or other apps may remain until you delete them there. Firebase data retention depends on the service and project settings.
